COST OF STUDYING AND LIVING IN THE CANADA

Before you study in Canada, you will have to look at tuition and the living costs for your stay. There are number of financial options available for international students, so make sure that you research and find out what you may qualify for. The estimate living cost per month is between 1,500-2,000, so it is important to plan ahead and keep track of your spending.

The average price for international undergraduate students starts at around 14,000 CAD per year. The average price for international postgraduate students is around 42,000 CAD per year. The duration of a Canada undergraduate course rages from three to four years, while a full time postgraduate degree is generally a year. There are plenty of options available to you following your degree and there will always be lots of guidance to help you choose your next step.

VISAS

Once you’ve decide what to study, you need to consider entry dates, application deadlines, Canada student visa deadlines and English language requirements. For Universities, the primary intake is in September/Fall session, although very few do allow for a January/Winter session intake. For Colleges, there are usually 3 intakes in a year: September, January, and May. If you wish to start your course in September, keep in mind that the application deadlines are as early as January, so make sure that you have summited all of your application documents well in advance of your cutoff date.

When applying for your Visa, you must make sure that you qualify. Canada visa requirements are subject to change, but you will generally need an unconditional offer latter from your chosen university as well as proof of funds to cover course fee and living expenses.

Another thing to remember is that most courses have their own language requirements, so you may have to show evidence of your language skill. The preferred tests are TOEFL or IELTS, though you will be able to find out more about this from your chosen University.
